Chitwan National Park lies in 172 kilometers south of Kathmandu inside the low lands of the inner Terai. It covers the area of 932 sq. km of Chitwan. It was established in 1973 and granted the standing of a World Heritage site in 1984. Deciduous Sal forest covers some area of mountains. The floodplains of Narayani, Rapti covers 1/5 of the park and roofed by dense elephant grass intermix with revering forests of silk, cotton, tree and Sisam tree. Some sort of flora and fauna cover the hills. The highlights of this park are the five hundred Asian one-horned rhino (One-Horned Rhino). Some hundred of Royal Bengal Tigers live in the park.

Climate and Best time to take Chitwan Jungle Safari

Chitwan includes a tropical monsoon climate with high humidity throughout the year. the area is found in the central climatic zone of the Himalayas, where monsoon starts in mid-June and eases off in late September. it’s pouring with rain. after mid-October the monsoon clouds have retreated, humidity drops off, and also the top daily temperature bit by bit subsides from ±36 °C / 96.8 °F to ±18 °C / 64.5 °F.
