Ganja La Pass trek is one of the most challenging and adventurous passes in Langtang region of Nepal. The journey takes you deeper into the Langtang valley and higher to the Ganja La pass (5,160 m). This trek offers a spectacular view of Tserko Ri (4,984 m), panoramic Himalayan views of Langtang Lirung. In addition, beautiful Helambu valley, lush valley, Naya Kang peak and the entire Langtang Himalayan range. From the Tamang and Sherpa cultural wonders to the natural charisma make the trip truly a fascinating one.

Despite being so close to Kathmandu valley, it is as wild as any Tibetan highlands. Apart from the immersion into cultural marvels, you will experience a wonderful adventure walking along the trail closer to the mighty mountains. On this trek, one travels through lush forests of oak, pine, and maple. Also, get a chance to see wildlife such as the Himalayan rhesus monkey and Himalayan black bear. One can see the Breath-taking views of mountains such as Lahntang Lirung (7225m), Ganesh Himal (7606m),  Yala peak (5500 m), Ganchempo (6387m),  and many more. The pass is often blocked by snow, so inquiries about the local condition, good equipment & mountaineering experience are necessary for a safe crossing.

The best seasons for the  Ganja La Pass trek is Autumn (mid-Sept to Nov) and Spring (March to May). The weather is sunny and warm, with outstanding views but the nights are little cold.

Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft).

Day 2 Kathmandu valley sightseeing & trek preparation (1,300m/4,264 ft).

Day 3 Kathmandu - Dhunche (1950m /6435ft) 7-8 hrs drive, 117km.

Day 4 Dhunche - Thulo Syabru (1900m /6270ft) 5-6 hrs.

Day 5 Thulo Syabru - Lama Hotel (2470m /8104ft) 5-6 hrs.

Day 6 Lama Hotel - Langtang (3430m /11253ft) 5-6 hrs.

Day 7 Langtang - Kyanjin Gompa: (3870m /12697ft) 4-5 hrs.

Day 8 Kyanjin Gompa: Day explore Exploration and acclimatization day.

Day 9 Kyanjin Gompa - Ngegang (4100m) 4-5 hrs.

Day 10 Ngegang - Ganja La pass (5160m) - Keldang (4270m) 7-8 hrs.

Day 11 Keldang - Dukpu (4000m) 5-6 hrs trek.

Day 12 Dukpu - Tarkegyang (2590m) 5-6 hrs.

Day 13 Rest day in Tarkegyang and explore Sherpa village.

Day 14 Tarkegyang - Kakani (1750m) 5-6 hrs trek.

Day 15 Kakani - Melamchi Bazar - Kathmandu (1,300m) 3-4 hrs trek and 3-4 hrs scenic drive to Kathmandu.

Day 16 Drive to international airport and fly to onward destination.
