Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the oldest and most popular trekking routes to reach Mt. Everest. Also, the trekking offers once in a lifetime adventure travel hike in the company of inspiring and breathtaking Himalayan scenery. The trek follows the original route into the Solu-Khumbu region used by the early explorers of Everest. Highlights of Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek

Jiri to Everest Base Camp trek is best for acclimatizing as the trail goes slowly higher and higher. One can enjoy beautiful verdant terraces, mountains views, and Himalayan streams. As the trail crosses through villages and landscapes covered with amazing rhododendron and pine forests. Furthermore, the trail begins at an altitude of 1800 m and crosses numerous ridges. Dropping low to rivers at around 1500 m and ascending passes over 3000 m.

Some of the major highlights of this trek are; wandering through Sagarmatha National Park, visiting Sherpa villages of Namche Bazaar and Phakding and the extraordinary hike of Kala Patthar (5,545 m/18,187 ft). This trek has a number of stunning attractions, cross over small three high passes like Deurali Pass 2705m, Lamjura-La Pass 3530m, and Thaksindo-La Pass 3071m before reaching the Lukla. Furthermore, the trail passes through pristine terraced farmlands, forests and the beautiful Dudh Koshi River. Some of the high peaks that can be viewed in this trek are Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m), Cho Oyo (8152m),  and AmaDablam (6456m), Thamserku. In addition, one can get a chance to have a close look at the spectacular Khumbu Icefall in Everest Base Camp.

Best time to travel

The main trekking seasons are Spring (March-May) and Autumn (September, October).

Day 4 Trek to Bhandar (2,190m/7,183ft), 5-6 hrs walk.

Day 5 Trek to Sete (2,575m/8,446ft), 4-5 hrs walk.

Day 6 Trek to Lamjura pass (3,530/11,578) to Junbesi (2,680m/8,790ft), 6-7 hrs walk.

Day 7 Rest day at Junbesi.

Day 8 Trek to Nunthala (2,330m/7,642ft), 5-6 hrs walk.

Day 9 Trek to Bupsa (2300m/7,544ft), 4-5 hrs walk.

Day 10 Trek to Surkhe (2,290m7, 511ft), 4-6 hrs walk.

Day 20 Trek to Kyanjuma (3,500m/11,480ft), 5-6 hrs walk.

Day 21 Trek to Khumjung to Monju (2,850m/9,348ft), 6-7 hrs walk.

Day 22 Trek to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft), 4-5 hrs walk.

Day 23 Fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 24 Leisure at Kathmandu.

Day 25 Departure from Kathmandu.
