Tsum Valley Trek, a journey to applaud beauty, world’s remotest Himalayan Valleys, lying at the edge of one of the most secluded Himalayan valleys. Tsum comes from the Tibetan word ‘Tsombo’, which means vivid. The Valley is also known as Hidden Gems and a land of monasteries. The lush and wild landscape of Tsum valley passes through magnificent deep gorges, hamlets, gompas, chortens and the glittering snow on the apex touching mountain peak. Tsum Valley Manaslu Trek is a recently opened trail, though the region has a difficult terrain, rough steep tracks, and very simple accommodation. Since last few years this region is gaining huge popularity and offering the finest trekking experience in Nepalese Himalayan.

The biggest achievement of Tsum valley Trek is a crossing over the Larke Pass/Larkya La Pass (5160m). It is getting more and more popular as a new trekking destination. During our journey, everything we encounter on our trail gives a likeness of Tibetan Buddhist culture. Since the modernization and commercialization have not touched the purity of environment. Hence, The people in this quite untouched region have been able to preserve their uniqueness. You can pass through the alpine forest, glacial river and also view a mixture of terraced fields and hill villages.

Highlights of Tsum Valley Trek

Tsum Valley is still less exposed touristy areas. Comparison to the other popular regions this region is relatively virgin with less beaten paths. The trek begins from Arughat(600m). Then the trail heads up to the valley of the Budi Gandaki River through terraced fields and virgin countryside. You can stay in tea houses in the villages of Soti Khola (710m), Maccha (930m), Jagat (1,410m) and Eklebhatti. Furthermore, the route head northeast into the beautiful Tsum Valley and to the village of MuGompa (3800m), the largest Monastery.  In addition, you can visit many other monasteries Rachen Gompa, Mu Gompa, Dephyudonma Gompa. Also, enjoy the warm hospitality of ethnic people.

Coinciding your visit with local festivals of Dhacyhang, Lhosar, and Saka Dawa will be the perfect moment to get a minute observation of the unique local culture and tradition. The delightful journey will take you into the majestic surroundings of the Kang Guru, Cheo Himal, Ganesh Himal, Boudha Himal, Sringi Himal, and Hiunchuli.

Best Time to Travel

The best months are September, October & November during the Autumn season and after March, April & May during the spring season are consider as the best seasons for doing Tsum Valley trek. Regarding monsoon season at summertime, we do not suggest to try this route from June till August. But at autumn months the weather is perfect: there is no rain, and it is warm enough.

Itinerary


Day 1 Meet and greet at Kathmandu airport (TIA), transfer to hotel.

Day 2 Get permits, preparation or sightseeing in ancient old temples.

Day 3 Drive to Arughat from Kathmandu and stay there overnight.

Day 4 Trek to Soti Khola (710m), approximately 4 hrs walk.

Day 5 Trek to Machha Khola (887m), approximately 6 hrs walk.

Day 6 Trek to Jagat (1345m) and approximately 6 hrs walk.

Day 7 Trek to Lakpa (2240m) and approximately 6 hrs walk.

Day 8 Trek to Chumling (2386m), approximately 4-5 hrs walk.

Day 9 Trek to Chhokangparo (3031m) and about 5 hrs walk.

Day 10 Trek to Nile (3347m) via Milarepa (Piren Phu Cave), 4-6 hours walk.

Day 11 Hike to Mu Gompa (3700 m), Dhephyudonma Gompa (4060m).

Day 12 Trek to Chhekamparo via Rachen Gompa, (Nyigma-pa Buddhist sect).

Day 13 Trek to Gumpa Lungdang (3200m) approximately 6 hrs walk.

Day 14 Trek to Lokpa, approximately 6-7 hrs. walk via Ripchet.

Day 15 Trek to Jagat, approximately 6-7 hrs walk.

Day 16 Trek to Lapubesi, approximately 5-6 hrs walk.

Day 17 Trek to Arughat, approximately 6-7 hrs walk.

Day 18 Drive to Kathmandu from Arughat, 7-8 hrs drive.

Day 19 Departure from Kathmandu to home country.
